Hello E,
Following up on our last phone conversation, I would like to add a few words to clarify my point about not believing in individuality. And that everything is connected and that we are an integral part of an invisible Whole. This may seem bewildering.
Take the example of a theater play. Do you think that actors can do whatever they want on stage? No, because their role is defined in advance, and it is articulated with all the other roles. If someone starts improvising, the entire play is distorted. Their role only makes sense if it remains in harmony with those of all the others.
This interdependence manifests in all areas of our existence. In our world, for an event to occur, countless factors must come together. And this, regardless of the domain.
In an emotional encounter, both people must be free and their past journey must allow them to find themselves in a certain country, at a certain moment with a particular state of mind. I cannot enumerate all the factors, they are innumerable.
The same applies to business relationships. Regarding you, for example, you only need to consider what your stay in Bangkok rather than the USA for your internship has created in terms of encounters, friendships and connections for you. In short, the world in which you have lived for seven years now.
First of all, it was not your choice. You could not even envision this option that did not exist for you before I told you about it. And do you really believe that I was the one who originated this, the day I had the idea to write to F. to ask him if he could find you an internship?
For me to be able to write to him, it was necessary that I had made the acquaintance of his father 20 years earlier, and that we had worked together. And before that, it proved necessary that I be at my sister’s when she received in her mailbox a magazine in which F.’s father, whom I had not even heard of, was interviewed, which allowed me to write to him and become his collaborator.
And, of course, it was essential that I had met your mother 30 years earlier, for me to be your father. And you know by what ”chance” I met your mother, and how I found her again after losing sight of her, a story I have told many times, as I clearly perceived the hand of Destiny in it.
To make this encounter, it was necessary that I had gone to France after university. And what drove me to go there was the desire to receive initiation into Knowledge, which it proved necessary that I hear about during a lunch I did not want to attend, from someone I did not know.
Even though we feel that we do things, and it is good this way, things happen through us. Are we the ones who create our desires that push us to act irresistibly, or do we simply follow through on them? So many people make efforts that never succeed; others succeed or make fortune, without effort and as a result of ”fortuitous” encounters.
Things are well arranged, because Life allows us to have the feeling of acting freely. For me, we are most free when we become aware that it is the entire Universe that acts through us. This allows us to play our role in joy and relaxation, outside of all tension, impatience or mental agitation. What matters is not the role we are called to play, but the inner disposition in which we play it.
Unfortunately, some of us are sometimes focused more on the external results of their actions than on the states of mind that their activity generates within themselves. And it happens that external achievements do not provide them with the expected inner satisfaction. Because no matter how much we water a tree, it will never bear fruit before the season. And supposing we succeed by forcing it, its fruits will not be good.
True joy is not the one that rewards the accomplishment of an action or the realization of a project, but the one that accompanies us throughout the realization process as a result of our connection with our deep being.
